Golden Eagle Can Machinery has updated its sheet-feed presses, and since its launch last year, the China-based companyhas already sold 30 of its new-generation machines to customers as far afield asIndia,Indonesia and Kenya.

A new shaft mechanism significantly simplifies adiustment and maintenance compared with traditional systems, managing director Frank Chan tells The Canmaker.“Strokes per minute easily reach 200250 for standard and easy-open-ends,chan says.

The system, which can also be used for DRD and aerosol end lines at speeds ofup to 200 per minute per lane. comes with sustainability advantages too. Chan says that the equipment handles tinplate ends with gauges down to 0.14mm.

The presses are made in the company'snew facility in Ningbo, Zheiiang Province which opened in July 2024. The site has shipped more than 15 computer numerical control (CNC) sheet feed presses and five DRD can production lines.“The new plant is also set to manufacture next-generation, high-grade can body combiners and slitters," which can deliver quality comparable to that of leading European manufacturers, Chan says.

Golden Eagle Can Machinery supplies complete end-makingline equipment, focusing on highly customisable kit for the overseas market,Chan says that in anticipation of the potentially negative effects of US tariffs on the company's operations, it took the decision last year to open a new manufacturing facility in Singapore, chosen for its transport infrastructure and access to skilled local talent.
